Microsoft has just released a developer preview of their upcoming operating system Windows 8.
There is only one restriction with regards to the installation:
You cannot update an existing copy of Windows, the Windows 8 installation requires a clean install.
About installation we will talk about installing Windows 8 from a bootable Flash drive.
Basic Requirement for installation of Windows 8 from flash drive :
1. Pen drive/flash drive/USB device/Thumb drive of 4GB or more.
2. ISO file of Windows 8 Developer Preview
3. Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool
4. Back up your essential data.
Requirement for installation of Windows 8
1. 16 Gigabyte hard drive for 32-bit systems,
2. 20 Gigabyte for 64-bit systems
3. 1 Gigahertz or faster 32-bit or 64-bit processor
4. 1 Gigabyte of RAM for 32-bit, 2 Gigabytes of RAM for 64-bit minimum
5. Direct X 9 graphics card
We are going to use Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to create Windows 8 bootable Flash Drive.
Step 1: First of all Download Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool for free from Microsoft.
Step 2: Install the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool on your system.
Step 3: Now launch Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool and browse for Windows 8 Developer Preview ISO file.
Go to Start > All Programs > Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool and open the application.
Step 4: Now you need to click on browse and select the Windows 8 ISO Image and click next.
Step 5: You’ll get two options to choose either USB or DVD, Select the USB device option.
Step 6: Now in the next window, select the USB device which you are using from the drop down menu.
Select USB and click Begin copying.
Once the above process is done, the tool would start making bootable pendrive from mentioned ISO file.
NOTE: If the pen drive has some data in it then Windows 7 USB/DVD tool would ask to erase or clean data fromflash drive.
When the tool shows 100%, Now you have successfully created a bootable USB Windows 8 Flash Drive which you can use to install the OS on any laptop or netbook using the booting option at start-up.
