How To Use Windows 8 Ribbon Bar In Windows 7

Microsoft has detailed a few more changes coming to Explorer in the next version of Windows. In a long blog post over at the Building Windows 8 blog,

Microsoft Director of Program Management Alex Simons announced that the company will bring the ‘ribbon’ UI to its ubiquitous file manager tool in an effort to provide easy access to hundreds of features and highlight a few ‘hidden gems’, all while respecting Explorer’s heritage as a powerful file manager.

Now you would be able to get same Windows 8 Ribbon UI  Explorer on your Windows 7 with BExplorer.

BExplorer: Better Explorer is a free software for Windows 7 which can be considered as an alternative to default Windows Explorer. It comes with Windows 8 style Ribbon UI.

Now you can use BExplorer with a good feature of the Ribbon UI is that -Minimize the Ribbon- option and you can hide it using one small icon button at the top of right .But Currently Windows 8 DP has no option to disable or hide Ribbon UI interface.

BExplorer is currently in alpha version, It may possible that it contains some bugs and usability problems.

This works only on Windows 7 (probably in Vista but not tested).

For fully work, Don’t forget to install .Net Framework 4.0 Full and Visual C++ 10.0 redistributable package.

It is good application to bring Windows 8 Ribbon UI on your Windows 7.
